Designed for new investigators, the Clinical Trials training course will cover basic clinical research in drug development. The course was conceptualized by members of the ASENT Board of Directors, who identified the need for more formalized training on the clinical trial process for new investigators and academicians interested in drug development.
The course will provide a practical overview of the clinical trials process, with an emphasis on Phases I-III. Faculty will consist of ASENT leaders and members from academia, government, and industry, along with other experts in the area of drug discovery and development. A Certificate of Completion will be granted to participants who successfully complete the course and pass an examination.
Launch in 2021
The course will be launched in summer or fall 2021, and will be held both virtually and in-person (once it is safe to do so given the global pandemic). Currently, the clinical trials course committee is developing the curriculum and identifying faculty experts.
